1. Basic Information & VSB1 Specifications
- Braking Tiers: 0–750kg GTM (no brakes); 751kg–2t GTM (brakes on 1 axle); 2t–4.5t GTM (brakes on all wheels + 15-min breakaway system).
- Safety Chains: 1 chain (≤2.5t ATM); 2 crossed chains (2.5t–3.5t ATM); AS 2321 high-tensile chains (3.5t–4.5t ATM).
2. Licensing Requirements & Restrictions
- Licence: Standard Car (C) licence. Learners prohibited from towing.
- P1 Probationary Trap: Red P-platers prohibited from towing unless for work/agriculture, and must display Red P-plate on trailer.
3. Enforcement Options & Roadside Focus
- Unsecured Loads: Infringe un-netted green waste or loose debris.
- Ute GCM Limits: Check towing vehicle braked limits and combined GCM when hauling heavy tandem plant trailers.
